While razor push-mowers are coming back, the majority of people in the United States still rely on the gasoline-powered lawn mowers, which have an enormous carbon footprint.
Lawns cause air pollution. Food safety was one of my main reasons for growing more of my own organic foods, but there are so many other reasons too.

When you look at your neighbor's yard, perhaps you say to yourself, "The grass is always greener on the other side." If you check for excessive thatch, give your lawn enough water, and learn how to mow and use lawn fertilizers properly, the grass will be greener on both sides of the fence (and maybe even a little greener on your side).
